Terms of Use

Effective October 6, 2026

1. The agreement

Rompus is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms add to it. Where they conflict, the standard EULA governs the licence and these terms govern the subscription and the content. "We" means Justin Calvert, the developer.

2. What Rompus is for

Rompus is a tool for a parent or guardian: it suggests outdoor activities for children and keeps a record of the ones you did. It is for adults to hold and operate. You decide which activities are right for your children, where and when to do them, and how closely to supervise. Rompus does not and cannot assess the conditions in front of you.

3. Your responsibility outdoors

You are responsible for your children's safety and for complying with local rules, including fishing regulations, fire restrictions, park hours and private property. Any label such as "with a grown-up" is a reminder, not a safety assessment. The app never states that a plant, animal, fungus or anything else is safe to eat or touch, and no suggestion from the app should be taken that way. The photo chip describes a coarse kind of thing and may be wrong.

4. The Family plan

5. Content and updates

Quests, badges, packs and the "Leave these alone" list are written and maintained by us and may be added to, corrected or withdrawn in updates. Weather comes from Apple Weather and orbital data from CelesTrak; we do not control either and do not promise their accuracy. The app may not work as described without an internet connection for the first forecast, or without a location.

6. Your data

Your data stays on your device, as described in the privacy policy. Because we never hold it, we cannot recover it for you. Back up your phone.

7. Intellectual property

Rompus, its name, wordmark, badge art, quest text and icons are owned by Justin Calvert. The standard EULA gives you a personal licence to use the app. Share cards and badge cards you create for your own children are yours to share.

8. Disclaimer and limitation

Rompus is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for any loss or injury arising from activities undertaken with the app's suggestions, or from reliance on weather, sky or any other information in it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under consumer protection laws in your country.

9. Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

10. Contact

Justin Calvert, hello@rompus.app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
