Quests
Why these three quests?
Today's three are picked for your children's age bands, the forecast, the season where you live, how much daylight is left and what's in the sky tonight. Pull down on Today to shuffle. The Quests tab has everything, with filters for age, time and difficulty.
A quest says "with a grown-up". What does that mean?
Anything involving fire, water, heights or something picked up or touched carries that label. It means a parent does the quest alongside the child rather than sending them off. Each card also has a one-line rule, drafted for the app and checked line by line by the developer before it ships.
Can I do a quest that isn't on Today?
Yes. Open it from the Quests tab and tap Start. On the free tier some quests are part of the Family plan and show a lock.
Does the app identify bugs, plants or mushrooms?
No, and it never will. When you add a photo the app may suggest a coarse kind of thing, like "an insect", using Apple's on-device classifier. It never names a species and never says anything is safe to eat or touch. The "Leave these alone" list in Settings is a short regional list, checked by the developer, of plants, bugs and fungi not to touch.
Badges
How do ladders and packs work?
A ladder is four badges in sequence that build a skill, such as Sky or Knots and skills. A pack is a themed set of quests for a kind of day, such as Snow day or Camp. Pack quests stitch the pack's badge up through four tiers as your child completes more of them.
Can two children earn the same badge?
Yes. Every badge belongs to a child, and each child has their own badge book. When you log a quest you choose who did it. Nothing compares one child with another.
Where are the streaks?
There aren't any, on purpose. No streaks, no missed-day messages, no leaderboards. Milestones count totals and never run out.
Family plan
What does Family include?
Every quest and pack, new packs and updated quests with every release, every child in the household, camp packs that work offline, sky nudges and share cards. It is one yearly subscription, shared through Apple Family Sharing.
How do I cancel or restore?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Cancel in iOS Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, or from Settings in the app under Subscription. Tap Restore purchases on a new phone. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Location and weather
Why does it want my location?
To pick quests that fit today's weather, the season where you are and tonight's sky. It is read once when you tap to set it, stored on the phone as a town and a rounded coordinate, and never tracked. You can type a town instead, or skip it.
The weather is wrong or missing.
Forecasts come from Apple Weather and are cached so the app works offline. If the chip looks stale, open Settings and check the weather status line under About. With no location set, the app shows quests that don't depend on weather.
Tonight has no space station row.
Passes need fresh orbit data, fetched about once a week from CelesTrak. If the phone hasn't been online in a while there is no row rather than a guess. It comes back on the next refresh.
Privacy
Where does my family's data go?
Nowhere. Names, ages, notes, photos, badges and your location stay on the phone. There is no account and no server. The privacy policy lists the three network requests the app makes.
How do I delete everything?
Delete children, quests or photos inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of it. There is nothing to delete on our side.
Still stuck?
Email hello@rompus.app with your iOS version and what you expected to happen. The version number is at the bottom of Settings in the app.
